Wanna Host the Project this Summer 2013?

Pals-

The 52nd Street Project is making its annual trek to Block Island with our 10 & 11 year-olds to rehearse the One-on-Ones from July 6th -13th.  We are still looking for one more host family. This involves housing two kids for the week and dropping them off at 9 a.m. and picking them up at 8:30 p.m. each day (except for one dinner with the hosts).  Does anyone know someone on Block Island that might be willing to do this?  It is a great experience for kids and hosts alike and does not take up too much time.  Contact Carol Ochs @ cochs@legacy.52project.org if you have any thoughts or suggestions.

Thanks.

Fivey #15, The Delicious Issue, is now on our digital coffee table.

Filed under: News Flash — @ 2:04 pm

In June of every year we publish our own kid’s magazine, Fivey. The theme this year is Fivey Course Meal, the delicious issue. It’s packed with articles about food and reviews of Hell’s Kitchen’s best and slightly less-than-best restaurants. And, when you’re full, you can devour some kid poetry, stories, and interviews about non-culinary topics.

Click HERE to get to the Fivey Magazine archive. Once you’re on that page, Fivey #15 will appear at the top of the list. It’s only 5 megabytes, so it won’t take a big byte of your bandwidth.

The Papers Weigh In

We’re really proud of the coverage we’ve been getting for our current show STAND BY ME, The Reliable Plays. Today, the paper of record, The New York Times, published a little article about the process and the production:

NYTimes Weekend Miser, Friday 4/5/13

Meanwhile, the New York Daily news included us in an article about all the kids who are popping up on New York stages these days:

New York Daily News, Sunday, 3/31/13

Read all about it.

We got a shout out on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart

Last night, after a two week break, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart returned, and what better way to kick things off then with an interview with GAME OF THRONES star Peter Dinklage, who also happens to be appearing in The Project’s new show STAND BY ME, The Reliable Plays. At the end of the segment Peter and Jon discuss the Project and the show. You can watch the interview here and then be sure to get your tickets to STAND BY ME.
